Ryan was diagnosed with a bacterial infection in addition to the malaria and giardiasis previously diagnosed. They are trying to get his lab results sent to me so I can forward them to physicians here so we can better evaluate his condition. He definitely has improved with the treatment he is receiving but he is still quite sick.

To Ryan: Get better soon! Sorry to hear about your into to a different kind of culture shock.
To Ryan's family: Stay strong. One of the hardest things about giving our children over to missions is knowing there will be times we want to be with them and we have to pray that God will provide those people who can comfort and hug them. Our prayers are with you.

We don't know why things like this happen. Seeing God's will or his plan seems impossible, but it is there. I have to trust that it is there and that in time God will show you. God is with you. He will get you through this unfamiliar time.
So many people are praying for you right now. You are deeply loved and supported in your upcoming decisions. Remember to listen to your heart. Listen to the Lord's voice in what is best for your recovery. You know his voice, it is the voice that brought you to a place to share your love, talent, compassion, grace, and Jesus. And I know you have not been there long and I'm sure it feels that you have not had the chance to do all that you are able, but know you have already made an impact in so many lives. I know you have touched the people that surround you there because of the Jesus that shines in you. And people here back home hear your story and know that you are a man of God and say you are an inspiration.

Tell them the truth Ryan Jones!!! That you used me for a month, while I paid for everything; meals and trips. That I took you on a camping trip, on Valentine's Day, I paid for to help you cope with your brother's death. That on your brother's birthday, you got blackout drunk and I took care of you while you verbally abused me. That I saved your life because you were alcohol poisoned and were chocking on your own vomit. That after you committed yourself to me and told me to hang on while you sort all this out, you then disposed of me like yesterday's garbage. Tell them the truth!!! I am honorable and will defend this any day and anytime!!!!
