I made it!

Greetings fellow missionaries!

I hope that you are all doing well. I thought I'd take some time to update you on whats going with me right now. I arrived in Paris on schedule yesterday and only had minor difficulties in locating my luggage and finding the gate where my other team member was arriving. I did not get much sleep on the plane so yesterday was experienced in a fog of sleepiness but I managed to stay awake until about 8 o'clock. The family I am staying with has a son who attends ACU and they are very hospitable though they speak very little English and I speak very little French.
Even though I have only been here a day I have already had some interesting experiences. For instance, while at the airport I saw a movie being filmed and a protest being held. Also when I woke up this morning for breakfast I accidentally got a small glass of wine instead of a small glass of grape juice (who knew wine came in boxes?). I am feeling great right now and I am excited to get started with language school (we start Monday) though I have to say that I am learning a lot just by being around people who are speaking. I hope everything is well with all of you and that your mission efforts are going well! Au Revoir!

Greetings

Hello my fellow missionaries!

Well it is 1:20 in the morning the night before I leave and I am about to go to bed. This past weekend my family and I helped my sister Kayla move from Little Rock to Dallas, so needless to say we have been busy. As I was saying, I fly out tommorow to Paris where I will be working with the Parisian church and going to language school. I have to say my feelings are pretty mixed right now; I am anxious but excited, a little scared but also pretty confident, I'm not gonna lie, I am not sure what I am feeling. I wanted to post my commitment to you before I left so we all know where we stand...

I am a missionary but so are all of you. Anyone who has lifted up a prayer for God's work through me in Burkina Faso is a missionary right along side me. I commit to updating my blog as often as I can with both details of what is going on day-to-day and my feelings about it; I do not know what the internet situation will be in Burkina but I will find out soon enough. I will list prayer requests that come up and I ask that you join me in lifting them up in prayer. Please feel free to email me and if you do I promise I will try to get back to you. My email is wildcat_disciple@yahoo.com and I will be checking it about as regularly as I will be updating my blog. Thank you all for you support and I will post again when I make it Paris! Please pray that I have smooth travel and that I get to my destination in one piece and with all of my luggage. Thanks again!

Your fellow missionary,
Ryan
